Porcine pleuropneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (App) is a contagious disease reported to cause economic losses worldwide (Gottschalk, 2012a). The main clinical signs of the acute disease are anorexia, depression, fever, coughing, dyspnea, and/or polypnea (Gottschalk, 2012a).
