Bitcoin (BTC) has returned to the $26,000 level after experiencing a pump and dump in the late-business week. On August 17, BTC hit a two-month low of just over $25,300 but quickly bounced back to reclaim $26,000 by the weekend. Despite a surge to a six-day high of $26,800, the cryptocurrency failed to reclaim the $27,000 level and dropped back down to $26,000 on Friday. Currently, BTC stands at around $26,000 with a Market capitalization of $507 billion and a market dominance of 48.3%.

Most altcoins have mirrored BTC’s performance over the past 10 days, experiencing dumps followed by attempted recoveries and mostly Trading sideways. In the past 24 hours, there have been minor daily gains observed in Ethereum, Binance Coin, Ripple, Dogecoin, Tron, Polkadot, Shiba Inu, and Litecoin. However, Cardano and Solana have both lost about 2% of their value on a daily scale, with ADA sitting at $0.25 and SOL close to breaking below $20. The top performers on a daily scale are SUI, which has surged 9% and 20% within the past week, and Shiba Inu’s BONE, which has also increased by 20%.

The overall crypto market cap remains sluggish at around $1.050 trillion. Despite the uneventful past 24 hours, there is potential for further market movement as investors continue to monitor the performance of cryptocurrencies. It is important for investors to conduct their own research and make informed Investment decisions based on their own risk tolerance and financial goals.
