A recent report published by VanEck suggests that Solana’s native cryptocurrency, SOL, could outperform Ethereum (ETH) in the coming years. However, these predictions are not precise but rather assumptions about possible scenarios for the price movement of SOL. VanEck’s forecasts span a wide range of possibilities, with the worst-case scenario being a fall below $10 and the best-case scenario suggesting an increase of 10,000% to exceed $3,200.

SOL debuted on the crypto markets in 2020 at under $0.6 and reached a peak of over $260 in November 2021, representing gains of over 40,000%. While such incredible performance is difficult to replicate, a gain of 10,000% from current levels is theoretically possible. The price of SOL seems conducive to speculative bubbles, as seen in 2021 when it experienced a significant spike and subsequent deflation.

VanEck predicts a potential boom in the use of SOL, stating that it could become the first Blockchain to host an application with over 100 million users. This achievement could lead to a significant increase in the value of SOL. Additionally, Solana may reach a market share of around half of Ethereum’s, as it offers a different approach focused on scalability and speed rather than decentralization and community governance.

It is important to note that the comparison between Solana and Ethereum is not a direct competition but rather a different approach catering to different types of users. On a practical level, comparisons can only be made based on price changes over time. Ethereum has already experienced two significant bull runs, and it is possible that SOL could go through a similar run. If SOL’s price follows a similar pattern, a new high of around $1,000 could be achieved.

VanEck also offers an exchange-traded note (ETN) on SOL among its derivatives products. Overall, while VanEck’s report suggests potential growth for SOL, it is essential to consider these predictions as assumptions rather than precise forecasts of the cryptocurrency’s performance..
