Ripple (XRP) Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty lashed out at the former SEC official’s claims when he spoke out about the ongoing litigation.
Former SEC official John Reed Stark, known for his anti-crypto stance, has suggested that a corruption investigation should be opened against another former official, Bill Hinman, who changed the course of the case. Hinman’s past email correspondence about cryptocurrencies has been cited as the most compelling evidence in the Ripple – SEC case.
Hinman said that during the mutual communication in which he had previously exchanged information, Ethereum “not covered by securities” stated. Following the revelation of the email correspondence, Ripple gained a huge advantage over the SEC in the case.
Stuart Alderoty emphasized after the allegations that this situation is not limited to Ripple. According to crypto lawyer John Reed Stark’s comment, there is a major conflict of interest among government officials.
U.S. district judge Analisa Torres issued a critical interim ruling in the ongoing case last month. Torres agreed that Ripple does not have to sign any contracts when selling XRP Tokens. Following the outcome in favor of Ripple, SEC chairman Gary Gensler stated that he was not happy with the situation.
