ripple Introduces New Feature for Payments API, What’s It All About?

Blockchain payments firm Ripple has introduced a new feature called “Try It Out” for its Payments API. This new addition is designed to help developers by providing an interactive experience with the Ripple Payments API and other APIs. It also allows users to send simulated API requests and receive responses without needing to log in or provide authorization tokens.

How to Use ‘Try It’ in Ripple Payments API

The “Try It Out” feature is available on the API documentation pages for the Ripple Payments API, Smart Liquidation Service API, and Report Service API. This interactive tool allows users to test how specific endpoints respond in real-time. It also serves as a valuable resource for both developers and development teams evaluating the company’s technology.

To use the “Try it” feature, follow these steps for the GET/fee operation:

  1. For GET/fees operation, visit the API reference page via docs.ripple.com.
  2. Click the “Try it” button on the right panel.
  3. Open the “Security” tab and enter any string value in the “Authorization” text field.
  4. To edit the query parameters, open the “Parameters” tab.
  5. Click “Send”.
The dashboard will automatically update to display the success note from the endpoint. This makes it easier for developers to understand how Ripple APIs structure their responses. It also shows how pagination works and how request parameters affect the response.

Advantages of the Last Feature

Before this feature, developers had to wait through the contract process to get API credentials. Now, the “Try It Out” feature removes this barrier, allowing for easy testing at any time. This can speed up integration timeframes and enable independent testing before going live.

The “Try It Out” feature offers several benefits. Development teams can evaluate Ripple technology without having to sign in or obtain API credentials. Developers new to the integration process can also quickly learn how specific endpoints respond without leaving the documentation page. This setup also ensures that developers are well-prepared when they start integrating with Ripple Payments.

The new feature is already live and ready for testing on the Ripple Payments API, Smart Liquidation Service API, and Report Service API reference documentation pages. The company’s product documentation team is also working to enable the feature on the Ripple Payments Direct API reference pages soon.

Ripple’s initiative aims to improve the developer experience and streamline the integration process. By providing tools like “Try It Out,” the organization makes it easier for developers to work with its APIs, ultimately driving innovation and efficiency in payment solutions.
