Polygon (MATIC) Releases Nightfall Mainnet Beta; Here’s Why This Is Important

Polygon (MATIC) has released the mainnet beta of Nightfall. Taking a hybrid approach to scaling, Polygon Nightfall aims to provide security, privacy, and efficiency for enterprise blockchains. Polygon is confident that web3 infrastructure is the answer.

Why Polygon (MATIC) Nightfall Mainnet?

There’s no doubt that enterprise blockchain is bursting with potential, but it clearly lacks privacy. The only reason for this is uncontrolled, closed and centralized businesses. Polygon is sure to deliver an almost impossible option. ToM aggregations protect the confidentiality of transactions on a public network. While Optimistic Rollups take care of scalability and efficiency. The team states that Nightfall, powered by Ethereum, is the true definition of trust, transparency and reliability.

“Most enterprise blockchain solutions are not decentralized. They are private or permissive based on pre-existing trust between the parties. By centralizing the blockchain, it jeopardizes trust.”
Optimum dusk approach

As mentioned earlier, using the cutting-edge Optimistic-ZK hybrid approach provides businesses with everything needed for optimization. Storing transactions on the Ethereum mainnet ensures security. They also ensured that costs were kept as low as possible while maintaining confidentiality from 3rd parties. The announcement read:

“We are pleased to announce Polygon Nightfall, a blockchain solution that uses cutting-edge Optimistic-Zero Knowledge technology to provide businesses with an accessible blockchain network with the robust privacy they need.”

The mainnet beta, a private decentralized operation for businesses, went live today. Polygon and professional services powerhouse EY believe that together they will open many doors in web3. Polygon (MATIC) is a carbon neutral web3 infrastructure that has committed to going carbon negative before the end of the year. The beta version is in sync with the mission as it focuses on reducing gas fees.

“A centralized solution reduces the benefits of using blockchain in the first place. But if businesses try to use public blockchains like Ethereum accordingly, gas fees become too high and prohibitive.”
Polygon (MATIC) initially hopes to solve some of these key issues between permissioned and public networks. Highlights of the new launch will be discussed via an AMA session on Polygon on Tuesday. Viewers will be enlightened on “how the first layer-2 ZK will transform enterprise blockchains.” EY’s blockchain leader Paul Brody and Polygon’s (MATIC) leader Antoni Martin will be part of Tuesday’s launch.
