How does activin work?
The activin dimer binds two type II activin receptors, and activates type II receptor serine–threonine kinase activity. (H) Type II receptor binding results in recruitment and association with two type I activin receptors, ActRIB (ALK-4) or ActRIC (ALK-7), that are subsequently phosphorylated.
