The new academic partners include Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), EPITA (France), IE Madrid (Spain), and the University of Trento (Italy). This expansion is in line with Europe’s growing prominence in the global cryptographic technologies Market and its efforts to introduce legislation to provide regulatory guidance for crypto assets. UBRI aims to contribute to this mission by providing education to keep pace with the rapidly developing crypto landscape.

IE Madrid, one of the new partners, will be organizing a three-day workshop on regulating virtual assets. The workshop will focus on applied research, entrepreneurship, and business transformation, with the aim of creating a research paper that will equip students with the skills needed to enter the world of regulated cryptocurrencies. The dean of IE University in Spain, Ikhlaq Sidhu, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and the opportunity to prepare the next generation of leaders for a crypto- and blockchain-enabled economy.

Ripple has also strengthened its partnership with the Centre for Blockchain Technologies (CBT) at University College London (UCL), now known as UK CBT. The collaboration aims to expand the network of resources and extend the reach of UK CBT beyond UCL to include Birmingham and Edinburgh.
