Davos attendees turn to artificial intelligence; Comment from ripple and Circle executives
According to various reports from CNBC on January 16, tech companies participating in Davos 2024 have moved away from cryptocurrency and towards artificial intelligence (AI).

An unrelated report from Bloomberg on January 15 suggested that Coinbase also participated in the event through its CSO Alesia Haas. In another Bloomberg report, Haas acknowledged AI and its potential to improve customer service.
AI focus of Davos attendees seen on promenade
CNBC’s Kharpal suggested that AI is largely seen on the Davos Promenade, where various companies occupy property and chant slogans.
In a report he wrote with MacKenzie Sigalos, Kharpal noted that Intel placed artificial intelligence slogans in its temporary building. An image shows Intel using the slogans “Advancing the future of AI” and “AI is everywhere” for this area.
Kharpal also noted that Tata Consultancy Services has used the slogan “The future is AI” and added that business software company Salesforce has similarly used AI slogans across its property. Finally, he stated that Switzerland’s leading telecom company, Swisscom, branded the event area as the “House of Artificial Intelligence”.
Elsewhere, CNBC reported that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella commented on global AI collaboration during Davos. Meanwhile, Reuters reported OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s attendance at Davos and his suggestion that AI development needs innovations in power supplies to meet energy demands.

Garlinghouse suggested that crypto has surpassed the current phase of AI in its hype cycle, calling it “a very positive thing for the crypto industry.” He added that he was “a voyeur, not a participant” in the AI industry.
