Coinbase and SEC Filing Terms and Proposed Protective Order



The digital asset exchange, Coinbase, and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a Stipulation and Proposed Protective Order in compliance with the court’s previous decision. Specification and order means that both parties come to an agreement on certain issues and the court gives it judicial approval. As a result, if there is an alleged breach by a party, the court can enforce the terms of the contract.

Guidance Agreement for the Production of Documents


In his letter to the judge Katherine Polk Failla, both parties signed documents regarding the requests and the production of documents. According to the agreement, both parties will cooperate in good faith to resolve problems arising in the documents produced.


“The buyer must be the party If you have questions about any breaks in documents, specific categories of documents, any log entries containing metadata information, or disclosures asserting any claim of privilege or protection, the Parties shall meet and confer in good faith to answer such questions.”
If the parties are unable to resolve the dispute, it shall be submitted to the court pursuant to Rule 3(C) of the Individual Rules of the Court. Additionally, if a party inadvertently shares Protected information, that party must notify the other party within a reasonable time, stating full information and the basis for the privilege claim.


Within five days of receipt, the receiving party shall return, destroy or seize any copy of the specified protected information.


Coinbase and SEC Rumble


This development comes amid an ongoing lawsuit that has sparked a lot of back-and-forth debate within the crypto community.
