Bitcoin liquidations have surged following the recent Market crash, resulting in the largest single crypto liquidation event since the collapse of FTX in 2022. Over $1 billion worth of crypto positions have been closed rapidly, with Bitcoin suffering the most significant losses. By Friday morning, Bitcoin liquidation reached approximately $500 million, with long traders experiencing the majority of losses. Ethereum also saw a significant number of liquidations, with long traders losing $254.59 million compared to short traders’ $54.3 million. The largest single liquidation order occurred on the Binance exchange, worth $55.92 million.
However, Bitcoin has shown signs of strength, recovering to $26,000 after the initial plunge. This recovery has put pressure on short traders. In the last four hours, most liquidations have been short trades, providing some relief for long traders. Nonetheless, the highly volatile nature of Bitcoin’s price suggests that liquidation volumes could continue to rise.
Bitcoin is currently Trading at $26,451, representing a 7.48% decrease in the last day. Daily trading volume has increased by 110% to $34.47 billion. The future direction of Bitcoin’s price remains uncertain as bulls and bears battle for control..
