ASI Alliance Targets Big Tech’s AI Domination with Decentralized Network

Fetch.ai, singularitynet, and ocean protocol, collectively known as the “Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI),” announced the completion of their merger in June. It aims to create the largest decentralized network for artificial intelligence with its new ASI token.

From 11 June 2024, FET will be renamed ASI and the merger will be completed by 13 June. The ASI token will operate across the entire network, offering significant scalability and power.

Artificial Superintelligence Alliance

According to the official press release shared CryptoPotatoUsers can begin exchanging FET for ASI tokens via a secure token migration agreement on June 11, with AGIX and OCEAN tokens to follow on June 13. This contract will securely move over 200,000 holders’ tokens at predetermined exchange rates.

Ben Goertzel, CEO of ASI Alliance, said:

“This merger paves the way for a new era in artificial intelligence, combining our strengths to achieve unprecedented advances. This is just the beginning of a broader movement to bring together forces working towards beneficial decentralized AGI and superintelligence.”

“The ASI token is a symbol and a practical tool of our collective quest to leverage advanced artificial intelligence, blockchain and decentralized governance to quickly and effectively move towards a great future for all.”
The merger aims to bring decentralized AI infrastructure closer to reality. The joint research, brands, technologies and products of SNET, Fetch.ai and Ocean Protocol will be used to pave the way for an open, scalable AI system that uses blockchain to enable ethical and trustworthy AI development and use.

The Challenge to Big Tech’s Dominance in Artificial Intelligence

The partnership formed by the trip also aims to challenge Big Tech’s dominance of AI development amid the industry’s rapid expansion.

Longtime AI advocates and early adopters Ben Goertzel, Humayun Sheikh, and Trent McConaghy founded the ASI Alliance to accelerate the commercialization and monetization of their technologies, making advanced AI platforms and big data sets broadly accessible. Their ultimate goal is to advance the development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) as a precursor to achieving superintelligence.

Sheikh, CEO and Founder of Fetch.ai and Chairman of ASI, said:

“Through our newfound economies of scale, the Alliance can make real advances in changing the way Big Tech controls the narrative and direction of AI. “We have a long way to go, but this first step provides a foundation for others with a similar mission to make a difference.”
